The Sofitel Hyland Shanghai recently completed a major renovation that sees new rooms throughout the hotel, the creation of new executive floors, a new Club Sofitel lounge and a new lobby.A main feature of the hotel’s multi-million dollar renovation is the creation of 11 Club Sofitel executive floors and the exclusive Club Sofitel lounge on the 30th floor, which offers stunning views of the city’s Huangpu River and ever-changing skyline.

New Club Sofitel Rooms, feature a blend of contemporary European interior design with a Chinese flair. Each room has broadband Internet access, satellite TV and Sofitel’s signature ‘MyBed’, the comfortable cocoon-like bed composed of down feather mattress, down duvet and four oversized pillows. Bathrooms have been completely redesigned with separate bathtub and shower that features rain showerheads.

Guests in Club Sofitel rooms receive check-in and check-out at the Club Sofitel Lounge, free internet access in the lounge, one free suit press, coffee and tea all day, daily complimentary evening cocktails and snacks between 6 to 8 pm. Guests can also make use of Club Sofitel’s conference rooms for small meetings.

The last step of the renovation was the spacious lobby, which offers an elegant welcome to all guests arriving at the hotel. Featuring floral arrangements and original artwork displayed in a modern setting, the fresh and welcoming lobby is indicative of the facilities and services beyond.

The Sofitel has also unveiled a completely new range of restaurants and bars:

Mosaic Restaurant is a distinctive new “casual concept” restaurant with views over Nanjing Road. Offering an eclectic mix of modern Western and Asian cuisines from its open interactive kitchen, diners can enjoy cooked-to-order steaks, tepanyaki and noodle soups, along with extensive seafood, salad, bakery and dessert buffets.

Bar 505 off the lobby has a trendy, chic atmosphere with a wide range of cocktails, wine selection, beers - including a couple of its own brews from the in-house brewery. It also features live entertainment.

Madeleine, the new bakery located on Nanjing Road, is open from early ‘til late, and sells coffee, bakery items, daily fresh cakes, sandwiches and an excellent selection of imported wines.

For business travellers, the third floor business centre, adjacent Opera Meeting Room and fifth floor ballroom and meeting room facilities have been fully refurbished and make the hotel a prime base for corporate meetings and functions.
