Kempinski unveils Dead Sea Resort

Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea, on the shores of Dead Sea has opened its doors to guests.  The new luxury resort, just a short flight from any point in the region, will soon features the biggest spa facility in the Middle East.  For now, a secluded boutique spa operated by Anantara Spa offers quintessentially luxurious treatments including those of the Dead Sea, which is considered to be the world’s first health resort.

“For millennia, the high salt and mineral content of the Dead Sea has attracted travellers in search of cures and beauty, which involved floating in the sea, but never swimming. Cleopatra had caravans of camels deliver Dead Sea water to her palaces in Egypt, and Herod came to Masada to be cured by its minerals. We continue this extraordinary tradition for modern-day guests amidst the conveniences and luxury of contemporary living,” said Reto Wittwer, President and CEO of Kempinski Hotel.

Adding lustre to this new jewel in Kempinski Hotels’ portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts is its splendid architecture, inspired by the glory days of Babylon. Among its most salient features are the 117-rooms and suites Ishtar-style villas that offer luxurious amenities and stunning views of the Dead Sea.

Boasting the longest private beach in Jordan, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar also features eight outdoor fresh water swimming pools including a kid’s pool, all within a few steps from the rooms and suites. “For the private jet-set, the 1,850 sq m Ishtar Royal Villa includes three bedrooms, a private infinity pool with outdoor jacuzzi, a private butler, a chauffeur-driven limousine and its own series of gardens and private beach with chalets attached,” added Duncan O’Rourke, General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar.

Although relaxation and wellness are the main highlights of any guest’s stay at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar, the luxury resort’s strategic location affords guests plenty of opportunities for other exciting adventures, such as Wadi excursions, mountain biking, horse riding, to name a few.
