Silverjet has announced three appointments to its management team - Katherine Gershon, Launch and International Development Director, George Henderson, IT Director and Tamarah Khatib, UK Marketing Manager. The three appointments come ahead of the launch of Silverjet’s London-New York route which is planned for winter 2006.
Katherine Gershon joins Silverjet with a strong background in the travel industry, developed from over ten years in the industry, the last six years with Thomas Cook UK Limited.
As Director of Multimedia Sales and a member of the UK Executive Team, Katherine was responsible for driving thomascook.com from the 13th online travel site in the UK to the fourth - re-establishing the brand as a major player in the online space.
As Launch and International Development Director at Silverjet, Katherine will be responsible for all aspects of the successful on-time launch of Silverjet, ranging from marketing, website launch to aircraft and terminal refit. In addition, Katherine will be responsible for developing new routes and new markets.
George Henderson, IT Director has 16 years IT strategy, operations and delivery experience, nine of which have been in online travel. George joins Silverjet from Opodo, the European online travel agency. Prior to Opodo, George worked for the online travel agency, dreamticket.com and Kuoni, the leading long-haul tour operator.
At Silverjet, George will be responsible for the airline’s reservation systems, web site capabilities, mid and back office, and desktop technology infrastructure.
Tamarah Khatib is an experienced online marketeer who has a strong track record in initiating and running successful search engine marketing campaigns. Previously Online Marketing Specialist of Screwfix Direct, Tamarah was responsible for the implementation of effective online marketing strategies. Following Screwfix, Tamarah was the Search Marketing Manager for a Specialist Search agency. As UK Marketing Manager at Silverjet, Tamarah will be responsible for managing the delivery and consistency of the marketing mix across trade and direct consumer distribution channels.
