Alaska Air signs on Sabre

Alaska Airlines has signed new five-year, full-content agreements with Sabre Travel Network and Travelocity.

Through the agreement with Sabre Travel Network, the full content of Alaska Airlines fares and inventory will be available to subscribers of the Sabre global distribution system (GDS), including online and offline travel agencies. This includes published fares that the airline sells through any third-party Web site and through its own Web site and reservation offices.

As part of the agreement, Alaska Airlines has become a participating carrier in Sabre’s recently announced Efficient Access Solution. The program is a balanced, multilateral approach that provides key long-term assurances and a broad set of protections, including full content and service fee protection, for travel agents in the U.S., Bermuda and the Caribbean.

In addition, Alaska Airlines will continue its full-content relationship with Travelocity.

“We are excited to strengthen our relationship with Alaska Airlines,” said Hugh Jones, chief operating officer, Sabre Travel Network. “This agreement fuels momentum for the Efficient Access Solution, and it reinforces the value of the efficient marketplace that Sabre and its agencies provide.”
