Limiting cancellations vital for Indonesia

APTA President and CEO Mr Peter de Jong has sent a message of support
to Association members in Indonesia, in the wake of a
series of submarine earthquakes and a tsunami that has killed more than 300
people on the southern coast of Java island, July 17.He wrote: “We fervently hope
that you and your family, friends and colleagues are all well, wherever they
happen to be.”

    Mr de Jong described as astounding the series
of natural disasters that have been creating unwanted publicity for
Indonesia and called on members to come forth with information about any
effect this disaster may have on bookings.”

He wrote: “It is vital that we
try to limit unnecessary cancellations in destinations unaffected by this
latest incident—and do our best to encourage a return to normality in
Pangandaran and nearby places.”
