UK management changes for Sandals

Sandals & Beaches Resorts is appointing Tony Cowles as Managing Director, UK & Europe, effective 1 July 2006.

Tony succeeds Bobby Stewart who has held the position for five years and played an integral part in the company’s development within the UK market during this time.

Tony joins Sandals following 11 years as General Manager, Europe, for Air Jamaica Ltd, having been recruited to restart operations on the London route after a 13-year absence.  Prior to Air Jamaica, Tony held the position of General Manager, Europe, at BWIA, before which he had enjoyed a significant career with British Airways where he held a number of management positions.

In this pivotal role within the company, Tony will continue to underscore Sandals’ position as the leading provider of luxury ultra all-inclusive holidays to the Caribbean, with a particular emphasis on supporting the tour operators and agents to further drive business to the group’s 19 resorts across five islands.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to work with Sandals, a brand that is synonymous with a quality Caribbean holiday experience and where guests’ expectations are always exceeded” commented Cowles. He added “I look forward to bringing my experience to what I am sure will be a very fulfilling post as Sandals continues to innovate in the Caribbean.”
