Barbados announces the introduction of the 2006 Best of Barbados with savings on packages for holidays to the island. The new package provides travelers with considerable savings and substantial added value, and is designed to make Barbados even more affordable and create opportunities for visitors to participate in a number of activities during the summer and fall. Several hotels are also offering both free accommodations and free meals to children twelve years old and under.

Highlights of this seven night minimum program include a $200 per person airfare credit; free full American breakfast daily; first night free; and a $25.00 meal voucher per couple for the authentic Oistins or Moontown fish fry attractions. The actual savings translate to a minimum of $800 per couple. There are over thirty participating hotels, and seventeen attractions in Barbados will offer a 25% savings for the Best of Barbados 2006 package.

Additionally, all visitors traveling to Barbados during the month of September will receive a special September bonus of an additional $100 air credit, bringing the total air credit to $300 per person.

In announcing the package, Stuart Layne, President of the Barbados Tourism Authority, said, “The Best of Barbados package is a joint initiative between the Government and the private sector. It is our way of giving something back to the market that has meaningfully supported Barbados over the years. Mr. Layne continued, “It also creates an excellent opportunity for Americans who have never visited the island before to do so at a price that is extremely attractive.”
