Multimap is implementing its ‘In-line’ service on travel accommodation website www.travelrepublic.co.uk. The announcement was made at the EyeForTravel Distribution Summit, London.
The partnership will enable TravelRepublic customers to access accurate maps showing the exact location of its 60, 000 hotels, and tourist attractions nearby. 

Visitors to www.travelrepublic.co.uk access Multimap’s interactive maps from the ‘Hotels & Apartments’ link found at the top of any of the site’s pages. A’View map’ link, on the site provides access to a map, with zoom in/out functionality, The location of the hotel is pinpointed with a red circle.
“Multimap’s online mapping and location-based services are particularly valuable to the hotel sector because, more often than not, visitors are unfamiliar with their hotel’s location.” says Sean Phelan, Founder and Chairman of Multimap.

Idit Gazit Berger, Senior Account Manager, Multimap (pictured), told BTN:
“Travel is the only sector that generates revenue directly from the web and it is a key sector for Multimap.”

She revealed: “We are about to launch API, which will improve interactivity and enhance the customer experience. It will also enable us to include points of interest and relevant content.”

According to Berger, mobile services are another big growth area for Multimap since it is a great revenue generator for their clients.

Active Hotels and Hilton International also implement the in-line map service on their websites.

Since expanding into the travel market, Multimap exhibit at several travel exhibitions throughout the year. “This EyeforTravel event has been a very busy for Multimap, we have made many contacts, and it has provided great exposure and we are speaking to the right people here - decision makers.” Says Berger.
