St David’s hotel appoints spa manager

Rocco Forte’s The St David’s Hotel & Spa on Cardiff Bay is promoting Michelle Wilmott to Spa Manager.

Michelle first joined The St David’s Marine Spa as assistant spa manager in April 2004. Previously, Michelle worked as an account manager for Elemis in the UK after gaining valuable international experience in Nassau, Bahamas where she helped set up a five-star spa in the Atlantis hotel, Paradise Island and in Hong Kong, where she managed the Elemis Day spa In the Cathay Pacific 1st Class lounge in the airport.

Jason Harding, general manager of The St David’s Hotel & Spa commented: “Michelle has done an outstanding job since joining Rocco Forte’s The St David’s Marine Spa.  She has helped to develop the spa into an internationally-recognised facility.  As a hotel, we are always very keen to promote people from within the organisation and Michelle is an excellent example of this.”

The last 12 months has seen The St David’s Hotel & Spa collect an array of awards including: Best Urban Spa in the World, The Observer; seventh best business hotel in the UK, Condé Nast Travel Awards 2005 and was recognised as one of the top 20 destinations in the world for ambience and design on Condé Nast Traveller’s annual Gold List.
 
Last year, The St David’s Marine Spa introduced a totally new concept using marine-based Thalgo products and thalassotherapy-style treatments.  The spa offers a total hydrotherapy experience, unique to the UK, with salt water pools, underwater jet beds and massaging swan neck showers.  Residential spa packages are available for the ultimate in indulgence, detox or weight loss.

The St David’s Hotel & Spa has 132 rooms, including 20 suites, all with private balconies and views of Cardiff Bay.
