Travelodge boosted by Internet strategy

Travelodge said its first-quarter revenues rose 19 percent, with its Internet strategy spurring growth as it cuts prices. A total of 79 percent of its rooms are now booked online, reducing costs.

Travelodge is targeting rivals such as Whitbread Plc’s Premier Travel Inns with its cut-price strategy.
