BALINESE DESIGN WITH A CONTEMPORARY TWIST
Openness - both in attitude and design - is a key theme for both the public spaces and within the private spheres of each villa. The feeling is enhanced by doors that slide to reveal rooms, windows that unfold to form new spaces, and flat timber-edged roofs which appear to float above the buildings. Inventive use of local natural materials creates a fresh design language while incorporating the rich traditions of the island: local stones are laid in non-traditional bands; a single tree root forms an organic reception desk and the main pool is enhanced by a Balinese temple and cabanas draped with traditional cloth.

The clubhouse at the centre of the village-like resort contains all of the public areas including ‘Rush-Bamboo Poolside Café & Bar,’ a compact gym for morning workouts, ‘the elysian spa’ providing treatments and massages, as well as a library for private dining and meetings. It also houses a boutique, internet terminals and a terraced lounge that overlooks the main 25 metre long pool.
