Rugby heroes open Macdonald spa

A visit by five members of the Scottish RBS Six Nations rugby squad has marked the official opening of the new multi-million pound Vital Spa
and Leisure Club at the Macdonald Marine Hotel in North Berwick. The now legendary players Chris Paterson, Marcus Di Rollo, Scott Murray, Ali
Hogg and Mike Blair took some time out from hectic training to get a bit of
relaxation in.

Despite the tough image of rugby players the lads enjoyed a range of spa and
beauty treatments including a dip in Scotland’s first indoor/outdoor
sal*censored*er Hydro Pool, and a nice facial!

Sean Boyce, General Manager at the hotel said:

“With our location, the staff are more used to treating the aches of golfers
than rugby players so it has been a welcome change for them!

“We’re delighted that the lads could come and officially open what is one of
the best leisure and luxury spa facilities in Scotland. After the treatments
they have received today they should be the picture of health and wellbeing.

“Fitness, these days, is a more holistic combination of treatments for mind
and body. Hopefully, after relaxing in our spa, a massage and a bit of work
in the gym will have helped get the team stay in tip top shape.”

The Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa is the largest hotel in East Lothian and is
already proving a popular choice for weddings, dinners and business
conferences thanks to a fantastic location right on the Firth of Forth and
less than an hour from Edinburgh airport.

Scotland have also had a revitalisation under new manager Frank Haddon, with
their best Six Nations result for years, beating tournament winners France
and taking the Calcutta Cup for only the third time in 20 years with the
triumph over England.
