This is the first time that a hotel in India leads a worldwide readers’ poll. The Oberoi Rajvilas has been rated ahead of resorts that have been defining the standards for the hospitality industry worldwide - MalaMala Game Reserve, South Africa; Four Seasons Resorts in Bali and Thailand and The Peninsula, Bangkok, among others.
Since its debut in 1997, the Oberoi Rajvilas, has garnered significant recognition and has been consistently rated among the best in the world.
It has the distinction of being among the 3 hotels ever to have received the rating ‘beyond extraordinary’ by the readers of the Gallivanter’s Guide, the reputed newsletter with a discerning readership that spans 38 countries.
In its debut year, The Oberoi Rajvilas was conferred the following distinctions by the Gallivanter’s Guide: the ‘Best Resort opened in 1998’, ‘Award for Excellence’ and ‘Editor’s Choice’.
Tatler, Britain’s most sophisticated society magazine, declared The Oberoi Rajvilas the ‘Hotel of the year’ in 2001.
