Ritz-Carlton receives Dubai quality award

The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has been awarded the Dubai Quality Gold Award 2005 in a ceremony.This makes it the first hotel in the United Arab Emirates to receive such an accolade since the inception of the awards in the year 1994.

The Dubai Quality Award (DQA), which was established under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and the Chairman of Department of Economic Development, is the single most valuable framework used by companies to implement a strategy to improve their effectiveness.

Through the commitment of the most senior management, to the involvement of all employees, the objective is to fulfill an institutions obligations whilst achieving customer satisfaction at the optimum cost.

It is also a process for providing organizations with a ‘roadmap’ to achieving excellence through the adoption of good practices and soundly-based approaches that are deployed systematically and are continuously measured and reviewed.

Nine principle criteria were evaluated thoroughly by the DQA assessors, namely; Leadership, Policy and Strategy, People Management and Results, Partnership and Resources and Processes. Consistent demonstration of ‘best-in-class’ practices both by local and international standards on all of the key fundamental processes have earned the hotel continued accolades in customer engagement and passion for the brand.

True to the testament of the award, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has enjoyed record financial performance results since embarking on the quality journey.

This opportunity to be assessed for the award is presented to organizations from all business sectors that have been previous winners of the Dubai Quality Award, after demonstrating tangible sustained improvement over past performance. Past winners of the DQA are eligible to apply for the Gold Award after three years. The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai won the Dubai Quality Award in 2001.
