Rocco Forte’s Hotel Savoy in Florence is extending its five-star service to include the entire family with the introduction of a customised Children’s Programme.
On arrival, all children will be welcomed with an age appropriate gift: infants up to the age of three will find a teddy bear waiting in their room; milk and biscuits will welcome those between the ages of four and seven; older children between the ages of eight and fourteen will receive a gift of chocolate and a special guide to the city of Florence illustrated with colourful cartoons. The guide is available in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish and has been created to stimulate interest and encourage learning.
Children will also be gived their own bathrobe and slippers along with a dedicated line of toiletries by Linea Junior (including shampoo, body lotion and bubble bath). There is also plenty on offer to entertain the little ones with colouring books, small toys, DVDs and PlayStation 2, along with a selection of games, available to rent.
A specialised room service menu has been created for lunch and dinner, with dishes prepared using nutritious ingredients and presented to appeal to all ages with bright colours and interesting shapes, served on specially designed crockery.
The menu includes: Pizza Pinocchio (tomato and mozzarella); Zuppetta di Sofia (soup of the day); Risotto del Montebianco (butter and parmesan); Penne ai tre colori (tomato, basil and mozzarella); Hamburger di Poldo (mini beef burger and French fries); Bastoncini del Capitano Nemo (fish fingers); Pesce dell’Isola Che Non C’è (fish with parsley potatoes) and children’s all-time favourite, Pollo con patatine fritte (chicken with French fries).
All five floors of Hotel Savoy have inter-connecting rooms and suites, with cribs, special linen, pillows and highchairs available. Items that so often get left at home, such as changing mats, games, bibs and bottle warmers, are also on hand in the hotel.
