London: Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is further expanding of its UK network, with the launch of a brand new route from London City Airport to the Swedish capital of Stockholm. SAS will be operating the route on an aircraft leased from the Swedish airline Transwede. This will be in addition to SAS’ double daily service from London City Airport to Copenhagen.
From Monday 13 February 2006 the airline will operate double daily services from London City Airport to Stockholm, Monday to Friday, with a daily service operating on Sundays. This new route will complement SAS’ existing 40 weekly flights from London Heathrow to Stockholm and will bring its weekly services from the capital to Stockholm to more than 50. Flights will be operated by an 82 seater Avro 70, 4 jet engine aircraft. One-way fares start from GBP51 including taxes.
