Qantas boosts in-flight

Qantas passengers can now experience the award winning entertainment in the sky on new flights from San Francisco to Australia beginning March 29, 2006. Passengers traveling non-stop from the San Francisco gateway to Sydney will enjoy award winning in-flight entertainment options, including personal seatback video screens in all classes of service.
“Discriminating travelers expect choice and flexibility, especially when it comes to entertainment onboard,” said Wally R. Mariani, senior executive vice president of Qantas Airways, The Americas and Pacific. “As part of our ongoing commitment to our passengers, we continue to invest in our onboard amenities and are pleased to offer the best and most robust entertainment packages in the industry,” he added.
Qantas’ award winning, non-stop entertainment system highlights:
—Brand new, state-of-the-art Total Entertainment system recently recognized with the highest Avion Award
—Personal seatback video screen with a choice of new release movies, TV shows, Q Games and Q Radio
—The latest trend in entertainment with Audio Visual On Demand (AVOD) giving passengers control of their own entertainment options is being progressively introduced
—Economy Class passengers can choose from a variety of movies, television programs, Q radio channels and games
—Business and First Class passengers have a choice of additional new release movies and all-time favorites to enjoy
For the third time in four years, Qantas Airways was named the world’s No. 1 airline for in-flight entertainment by the World Airline Entertainment Association’s annual Avion Awards. Also recognized were “Qantas The Australian Way” for best in-flight magazine, “Q” as best in-flight entertainment guide and “The Making of ‘I Still Call Australia Home’” as the best special purchase video.
