Cayman Ritz-Carlton opens December

The $500 million, 365-room Ritz-Carlton on Grand Cayman is now accepting reservations for guest arrivals during the 2005 holiday season.
The property located on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman is set to open its doors on December 15.

“We are thrilled to open this resort in time for the 2005-2006 season,” said Jean Cohen, vice president and general manager.

“Our Ritz-Carlton customers have long awaited this luxury property on the beautiful, safe and affluent island of Grand Cayman.”

Standard high season rates at the resort range from $449 for Waterway rooms to $929 for Ocean Front rooms, setting a new luxury benchmark for the island of Grand Cayman.

The Reserve offering residential accommodations within the resort, the first La Prairie spa in the Caribbean, five dining venues including two restaurants by Eric Ripert of top-ranking New York restaurant Le Bernardin, several bars and lounges, Avenue 5, an exclusive shopping arcade, the island’s largest ballroom, a tennis center by Nick Bollettieri, Ambassadors of the Environment by Jean-Michel Cousteau family program and Blue Tip, a Greg Norman-designed nine-hole golf course.

Ocean Front rooms have panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, Seven Mile Beach and the ocean front pool. These 480 sq. ft. rooms have a 75 sq. ft. terrace, king bed with a loveseat sofa sleeper or two queen beds.

The 480 sq. ft. Waterway rooms are located on the North Sound side of the property and have views of Blue Tip, the Greg Norman designed golf course, the Waterway pool, the beautifully manicured Great Lawn or the resort waterways which wind throughout the 144-acre property. Rooms have a 75 sq. ft. terrace, king bed with loveseat sofa sleeper or two queen beds.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman also offers guests the option of Club Level rooms - with either Waterway or Ocean Front views. Guests who stay on the Club Level have access to The Ritz-Carlton Club, a lounge retreat with five food and beverage presentations daily.

The Blue Tip Suites, named for the golf course they overlook, provide sunrise views of the golf grounds, winding waterways and the North Sound. These 960 sq. ft. suites have two 75 sq. ft. terraces, one and one-half baths and a separate living area with French doors.

The Ritz-Carlton Suite, with 2,400 sq. ft. and commanding views of Seven Mile Beach, includes a dining room, butler’s pantry with refrigerator, one and one-half baths, a king bed and a 700 sq. ft. terrace.

Guests in The Reserve enjoy the comforts of a private oceanfront home along with the amenities and facilities of a five-star resort. The Reserve units are available in a variety of 2-3 bedroom combinations. Each unit includes a large living area, professionally outfitted kitchen and private terraces off each bedroom.

Rates for December 15 - 22, 2005 range from $579 to $2,250. Holiday rates from December 22, 2005 - January 3, 2006 range from $929 to $3,950.
