LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation , one of the world’s largest providers
of interactive television systems and broadband services to hotels, and
Showtime Networks Inc. today announced that LodgeNet will time-shift
episodes of the new Kirstie Alley comedy series Fat Actress, making each
episode available on a pay-per-view basis through LodgeNet’s TV On-Demand
service the day after it airs on SHOWTIME. The episodes will be available
in more than 500,000 guest rooms across the United States. “This achievement represents the first time we have distributed a first-
run TV series on a day-after, time-shifted basis,” said Rob la Bastide,
Vice President Programming & Content Management for LodgeNet. “Through our
established relationship with Showtime Networks and the satellite
distribution capabilities of our LodgeNet Media Management System,
travelers can catch up on previous episodes of this popular new series—
even if work or travel cause them to miss the latest episode.” la Bastide
added that all Fat Actress episodes are enhanced with LodgeNet’s
PowerPlay(SM) media playback controls.

“Showtime has proven itself to be an industry leader with this milestone
agreement, realizing that it can effectively cross-promote and build its
program audience as LodgeNet continues to further enhance the guest room
experience with quality programming,” continued la Bastide.

Airing Mondays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on SHOWTIME, Fat Actress stars two-time
Emmy(R) Award-winning actress Kirstie Alley as a woman struggling to find
work and love despite not meeting Hollywood’s age and weight standards.
The series debuted March 7.
