New GM at Athenaeum InterContinental

Panos Panayotopoulos assumed the
role of General Manager of Athenaeum InterContinental Athens December
1 and is the Êfirst Greek to hold this position since the hotel’s
opening 1982. Having been named “Young Hotelier of the World” in 1997
by the International Hotel Association, Panayotopoulos brings a wealth
of experience acquired over his years of work in some of the leading
hotels in Greece and abroad.
The position of the General Manager of Athenaeum InterContinental
Athens marks his return to InterContinental Hotels Group, which he joined for the first time in 1992. He progressed through a number of
managerial roles through 2000, including the Castellana
InterContinental in Madrid, Montreal InterContinental, Princesa Sofia InterContinental in Barcelona, Forum Hotel in London and the
InterContinental in Paris, where he held the position of Director.
Directly prior to joining the Athenaeum InterContinental Athens, he
held the position of Executive Director of Grecotel City Hotels.
