MTV Networks & Universal Music Group to Hold on-line auction at MTV.com to raise funds for relie

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has endorsed
plans by MTV Networks and The American Red Cross to provide aid and disaster relief
to areas of the Caribbean that were affected by this year’s hurricanes. The 2004
hurricane season took lives, left thousands homeless and caused damage to crops and
property in some Caribbean countries. As part of the relief effort, MTV Networks and
the Universal Music Group will host an on-line auction at MTV.com from December 13th
to December 20th.

The event will be promoted during a press conference being hosted by the Grenada
Board of Tourism in New York City today, Thursday, December 16, at the Park Central
New York Hotel from noon to 2:00 pm. MTV VJ Quddus, who is of Haitian descent, and
MTV2 VJ Amanda Diva, a Grenada native, will appear live at the media event to
encourage participation in the auction.

“This is a time of year when it’s important to be thankful for all that we have, and
to make sure we help others who are less fortunate than ourselves,” said MTV
Networks Chairman and CEO Judy McGrath. “I’m proud that MTV Networks, The Red Cross
and the Universal Music Group can come together to both raise some much-needed money
for the people of the Caribbean, and make some music fans really happy.”
