Marriott Named Top Agile Company by CIO Magazine

CIO magazine has named Marriott International, Inc. to its CIO 100 list for a fifth time, the company said.Ê
Marriott is the only lodging company on this year’s list. “This award demonstrates Marriott’s leadership in creating responsive information technology solutions and maintaining business practices that provide great value for our company, customers and business partners,” says Carl Wilson, executive vice president and chief information officer.Ê

“With the economy rebounding, companies will seek out and capitalize on new opportunities as they emerge,” says Abbie Lundberg, editor-in-chief, CIO. “Those best positioned to succeed are the agile enterprises, able to move and change quickly, to create advantage in a world in flux. In the last year, Marriott has been honored by several leading publications for its innovative use of technology to create business value and a positive work environment for its IT professionals.Ê Marriott has been recognized by Computerworld as a top 100 “Best Place to Work in Information Technology” and named in InformationWeek’s Top 500 list.
