Marriott Named One of the Computerworld Top 100

Marriott International, Inc.
announced that it has been recognized by IDG’s Computerworld as one of the
“Best Places to Work in IT” for the second year in a row. Placing 24th
among 100 companies overall, Marriott was the highest-ranked lodging
company on the list. Computerworld highlighted Marriott’s strong heritage
and culture. The Best Places to Work in Information Technology (IT) list is an annual
ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals
compiled by Computerworld. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive
questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits,
diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition,
Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their
responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

“This award is the result of Marriott’s long-standing management culture
to ‘take care of our associates.’ It also reflects the commitment among
Marriott’s information technology leadership team to create a positive,
rewarding work environment for our associates,” said Carl Wilson,
executive vice president and chief information officer.

In recent years, Marriott been honored by several leading publications for
its innovative use of technology to create business value. In 2003,
Marriott was named as a recipient of the prestigious CIO 100 award by CIO
magazine and was also named to the InformationWeek 500, a listing of the
most innovative users of information technology in the United States.
