Tropicana Casino and Resort
in Atlantic City, one of the East Coast’s premier gaming, hotel and entertainment resorts, has installed Revelation, the point-of-sale (POS) solution from InfoGenesis, a leading vendor of hospitality information technology. The installation includes more than 60 IBM SurePOS 500 touch screen terminals to manage all food and beverage and spa transactions throughout the property, replacing Tropicana’s existing POS system.
“InfoGenesis has given us major opportunities to increase revenues and reduce costs,” said Don Kneisel, Assistant Vice President of Information Technology for Tropicana Casino and Resort. “They helped us identify multiple performance improvement opportunities and demonstrated unique solution advantages that were key to obtaining those improvements.”
A key motivator in moving forward with InfoGenesis was the rapid return on investment, plus Revelation’s use of state-of-the-art, Microsoft-based open system technology.
“Revelation gives us sophisticated features that will allow us to achieve significant savings and access to information we just could not get out of our old POS system,” added Kneisel.
Revelation by InfoGenesis is specifically engineered for hospitality and foodservice operations. IBM SurePOS terminals have been installed in 17 profit centers at Tropicana including restaurants and bars, room service, retail outlets, the casino floor, and the salon and spa. Microsoft-based Revelation was also installed by all ten of the Tropicana’s lessees, providing Tropicana management real-time access to sales data and comprehensive enterprise reporting for the entire property.
“We’ve eliminated significant peak period system performance problems with the installation of Revelation,” said Deborah Marchese, Chief Financial Officer for Tropicana Casino and Resort. Because their Microsoft-intelligent InfoGenesis solution was built with the scalability and reliability necessary for success, the Tropicana can count on system performance when they need it the most.
“Having Revelation throughout our entire property is extremely powerful,” said Kneisel. “We can track the spending of members of the Tropicana’s Concierge Club and Diamond Club when they use their card at our outlets and our lessees’ outlets. This data is invaluable in understanding and improving our business. Revelation has provided us a solid foundation to fulfill our expansion plans, as we become the largest hotel in New Jersey.”
