Marriott Opens JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek

Marriott International, Inc. announced
today the opening of the JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek. The 11-story,
196-room luxury hotel is located at 150 Clayton Lane and will operate as a
Marriott franchise managed by Sunstone Hotels and owned by a partnership
consisting of WB Cherry Creek, L.L.C. and Sunstone Hotels. The JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek is part of the prestigious Clayton
Lane development, which also includes Janus Funds’ world headquarters and
soon to open two-story Crate & Barrel, North Italian Restaurant, Bob’s
Steakhouse and John Atencio Jewelers. In addition, the development
includes luxury condominiums and covered parking.

The JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek is home to Mirepoix, a signature
100-seat restaurant and bar, operated by the nationally recognized Adega
restaurant team, under the direction of one of Food & Wine magazine’s Best
New Chefs of 2003, Chef Bryan Moscatello. Contemporary in its decor,
Mirepoix features an open exhibition kitchen and a floating wine display
that covers an entire wall of the room and constantly changes colors due
to unique lighting. The restaurant is open daily and serves breakfast,
lunch and dinner.

The JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek provides convenient access to the
acclaimed Cherry Creek shopping area with over 250 high-end retailers and
unique boutiques all within walking distance. Other attractions and
businesses within close proximity include the Colorado Convention Center,
Denver Art Museum, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Denver Museum of
Nature and Science, The Denver Zoo and Denver Botanic Gardens. Centennial
Airport is 13 miles away and Denver International Airport is 24 miles away.

The hotel’s oversized guest rooms are designed to meet the needs of
business travelers, with complimentary high-speed internet access, a 32”
flat screen TV, DVD-CD players, portable phones, an oversized desk with
ergonomic desk chair, large safe and an in-room refreshment center. A
luxurious bedding package includes a custom-made duvet cover with three
sheets and feather pillows. Spacious bathrooms have an elegant, upscale
residential feel with granite and marble surfaces. All have a
glass-enclosed shower, separate bathtub and oversized custom-made
granite-top vanity with custom trim, enhanced lighting and magnifying
mirror. Egyptian cotton robes, extra thick towels and upgraded amenities
complete the bathroom’s spa-like feel.


Ideal for business and social occasions, the hotel offers 5,660 square
feet of meeting space, including a 3,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom.
Dramatic sconces and domed chandeliers give the room a comfortable yet
formal look, and a window-walled pre-function area features views of the
hotel courtyard. The Junior Ballroom, divisible into the Astor, Bluebell
and Rose rooms, offers seating for up to 150 in a sunlit space with
western views. Intimate groups of up to 10 may utilize the boardroom, with
a window wall, over-sized plasma screen TV and high-speed internet
wireless connectivity.

Additional hotel amenities and services include a fully equipped fitness
center, two outdoor hot tubs, 24-hour room service, full business center,
laundry valet, and lobby gift shop with “to-go” coffee.

In mid-September, the hotel will be home to The Spa at Cherry Creek, a
9,300-square-foot full-service day spa and salon, available for use by
hotel guests and the public. Developed in conjunction with the Antoine du
Chez management group, the upscale ambience of the spa is in keeping with
the sophisticated look and feel of the hotel. Fireplaces and water
features provide a relaxing and inviting environment, and guest’s can
spend the day enjoying spa treatments and having “spa service” meals
delivered from the hotel’s Mirepoix restaurant.
