Etihad Airways, the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced it will begin five-times per week direct service to Beirut, Lebanon as of June 3, 2004.  Flights will operate daily from Monday to Friday.Etihad has pursued a policy of rapid expansion on the Beirut route, which was its first scheduled destination.  Since that inaugural flight on November 12, 2003, the airline has now increased flight frequency twice to reach its present level of five direct flights per week.  Service is provided on widebody Airbus 330-200 and 340-300 aircraft. 

Beirut has proved to be a very successful route for Etihad where increased capacity is required. The Middle East is where the airline began service and where it plans to continue expansion of both capacity and route development.  Etihad’s goal is to provide a range of routes and services that travelers throughout the Middle East can depend on and take pride in. 

Increasing access to Etihad Airways flights from Abu Dhabi is part of the airline’s commitment to serving all residents of the United Arab Emirates.  The airline also offers door to door limousine service for Etihad’s Diamond and Pearl guests as well as convenient transportation by luxury coach for guests traveling in Coral Zone.
