White Lodging Services has announced the
completion of major renovation efforts for the Courtyard by Marriott
Chicago/Midway Airport, including guestrooms, lobby and public spaces. The
enhancements are based on feedback from hotel guests and are part of
Courtyard’s nationwide hotel “reinvention” designed to meet the needs of
today’s travelers. “Courtyard was launched based on the needs and desires of business
travelers and now we are reinventing the brand on the basis of new
customer research and recent product testing. Our updated design concepts
provide greater comfort and functionality to our guests,” said Courtyard
Brand Vice President Mike Hutter.

Each of the 174 guestrooms at the Courtyard Chicago/Midway Airport hotel
has been upgraded with the addition of functional enhancements, new decor
and furnishings. A new bedding package is more comfortable and inviting
with a thicker oversized mattress, raised bed bases and enhanced linens,
including duvets, new comforters and oversized pillows. Other enhancements
include new carpeting, end tables, ergonomic desk chairs, credenzas, 25”
televisions, and soft goods, including drapes and sheers. High-speed
Internet access is now available in most guestrooms to complement existing
amenities of two telephone lines with data ports, iron and ironing board,
and hair dryer.

The Courtyard Chicago/Midway Airport has also redesigned its lobby and
public spaces, including new lounge chairs, sofas, end tables, lamps/wall
sconces, corridor carpeting, new exercise equipment, and new pool
furniture. The new concept includes a pantry-style, 24-hour “grab and go”
food and beverage area, a lounge area where guests can work, meet and dine
in a relaxed setting, and a wraparound front desk that allows more guest
interaction and personalized service at check in and check out.

Guest services of the hotel include an on-site TGI Friday’s restaurant,
indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, guest laundry, meeting space for small
groups and complimentary shuttle service to Midway Airport.

Located within the Midway Hotel Center, just 2 blocks south of Chicago’s
Midway Airport, the hotel is conveniently within 15 minutes from Chicago
downtown attractions including McCormick Place, Navy Pier and United
Center. Nearby companies and attractions include Chicago Motor Speedway,
Cintas, Clorox, and Insure One.
