In a move to increase the success and expand the worldwide awareness of La Cabana All Suite Beach Resort & Casino in Aruba, the resort has named veteran hotel marketing executive Albert Lacle as its Director of Sales and Marketing. Lacle replaces Adwina Arends, who is retiring after 14 years at La Cabana and more than 30 years in the Aruba tourism and hotel industry.
“Albert Lacle brings with him extensive hotel and travel industry experience and know-how to propel La Cabana to new heights,” said Lou Roelofsen, general manager of La Cabana All Suite Beach Resort & Casino. “We feel we have found a strong replacement with Adwina Arends retiring as Albert Lacle has both resort and casino marketing and management experience,” Roelofsen added.
Lacle has established a U.S. marketing office for La Cabana in Smithville, New Jersey (609-652-8858), and will split his time evenly between Aruba and the United States, giving him the ability to increase networking with various tour operators, travel agents and other industry professionals on behalf of the resort.
Lacle has held positions as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Sands Casino Hotel in San Juan and Atlantic City and later at Atlantic City’s Trump Taj Mahal as Executive Director of Marketing. Lacle has also worked with industry giants such as Intercontinental Hotels and Holiday Inn Corporation.
Lacle graduated from Miami-Dade College and Cornell University with a degree in Hotel Management and is fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento, Aruba’s local language. He was born in Aruba and is conversant with the hotel and tourism industry in the islands.
