Free Online Seat Selection Available at bmibaby.com

bmibaby is further enhancing the service it provides to customers via its website, bmibaby.com.
From today, the airline is launching a pioneering new online seat selection system, which is not offered by any other UK low cost airline. The new system enables passengers to choose exactly where they sit on the aircraft at the time of booking their flight and it’s completely free!

Tony Davis, managing director of bmibaby, said:

“We want to take low cost service to new heights and we believe that by offering product enhancements, such as seat selection, we can successfully do this.  This new online service is free of charge and we’re sure that it will be very popular.

“bmibaby already allocates seats at check-in but the new system will give passengers the freedom to choose the details right down to their seat number and who they sit next to. It is important however that passengers realise pre-booking their seat doesn’t mean they can check in late, passengers for all services should still arrive at check in two hours prior to departure.”

The new facility prompts passengers at the time of booking, giving them the option to automatically reserve seats. Once seats have been chosen the system will automatically send a new confirmation to passengers, which includes the allocated seat number. bmibaby is now developing the system to enable passengers who have already booked on services can go back into the system, using their booking reference and select their seats. Passengers are advised to look for more details coming soon at bmibaby.com

The system is expected to be particularly popular with families and groups who travel together and it gives passengers an incentive to book early, not only to get the best deal but also to obtain the best seat on the aircraft!

Around three quarters of all seats on all flights will be available to reserve, certain seat availability is held back for reasons such as aircraft changes, disabled passengers, priority seating and infants. Seating will be allocated on a first come first served basis and, once seating has been selected, it cannot be changed unless the booking is cancelled, in which case the seats are automatically released back into the system.
