GetThere Receives European Business Travel Award

GetThere and a Sabre Travel Network brand, was named last week as the Best in Business Travel IT at the annual Business Travel World (BTW) Awards in London. The award recognised the advances made in recent months by GetThere to meet specific needs of the European business travel market.  This includes the addition of bookable rail content and the ability to book travel on several no-frills carriers without leaving the system.

The awards are presented annually by leading UK business travel magazine Business Travel World.  According to independent judges, who were drawn from the business travel sector: “GetThere has tackled complex situations head-on.  We congratulate GetThere for continually developing and for working to ensure a real end-to-end solution for its customers.”

GetThere’s entry also included specific examples from customers demonstrating it was achieving high usage rates within their organisations, an average 10 percent reduction in the price for short haul flights, and an average 40 percent reduction in transaction costs.

“This recognition comes at a time when corporate online travel reservation systems are making a real impact on the way business travel is booked and managed in Europe,” said Tod Lockard, Sabre Travel Network’s EMEA director of sales and marketing for GetThere.

“This year we will be introducing even more Europe-specific content to the GetThere system.  We will also be helping customers to drive up their internal adoption rates, thereby realising the greatest possible return on their investment in our system.”
