Six Senses Announce New Appointments

TJ Grundl-Hong has assumed the role of Area General Manager - Evason Resorts & Hideaways in Vietnam. Since May 2000, TJ has held the role of General Manager at Six Senses’ Evason-branded property, the Ana Mandara Resort & Spa, in Nha Trang.
Under his leadership, Ana Mandara has been positioned at the forefront of the developing hospitality industry in Vietnam. TJ has continuously introduced improvements and expanded the guest experience and services. Many new facilities such as a Six Senses Spa, new restaurants and bars, and retail Gallery have been added. He also established an impressive programme of excursions and activities.

TJ has also had a key role with Six Senses in conceptualising and planning the creation of two new Six Senses properties scheduled to open in Vietnam in late 2004: the Evason Hideaway & Six Senses Spa on private Ninh Van Bay, 20 minutes by speedboat from Ana Mandara Resort, and an Evason villa property with a Six Senses Spa, in Dalat.

Geoffrey Bennun will take the helm of the Sila Evason Hideaway on the Thai island of Samui. As General Manger, he will see the hotel through its final months of development to the scheduled opening on June 01 2004.

Geoffrey joins the 64-villa Evason Hideaway from his current role as General Manager of the Evason Resort Hua Hin & Six Senses Spa, which he opened in June 2002.

His life journey, from a South African childhood to hotel management studies in London, then took him to Canada where he took citizenship and worked with Four Seasons and CP Hotels.

Immigrating once more, this time to Australia in 1988, he worked throughout the SE Asian region, returning to Australia to develop and manage the Media Village, which was home to 6,000 guests during the Sydney Olympic Games. Following this tenure, Geoffrey joined the Evason Resort Hua Hin in 2000, and guided it through it’s pre and post opening periods.
