Pegasus Solutions announced that it has launched Galileo’s new Inside Shopper technology by integrating it with the RezView central reservations service (CRS) used by Pegasus’ Utell member hotels. Inside Shopper is Galileo GDS’ version of Next Generation Seamless technology. For Pegasus’ RezView CRS customers, Inside Shopper uses Pegasus’ new shopping engine technology. Specifically, hotels that use Pegasus’ Utell representation service are among the first to benefit from both new technologies. Inside Shopper provides a real-time connection between a hotel’s CRS and Galileo’s 47,000 agencies worldwide. With this interface, Galileo-connected travel agents, online travel providers and corporate clients receive the same up-to-the-minute information and last-room-available inventory that is offered through a hotel’s internal reservation number, which improves the level of service that travel agencies can offer their customers. Inside Shopper also helps travel agencies improve productivity. Because agents spend less time in the “shopping” mode, they will be able to search for properties and availability in the same step, and they will also see CRS-returned rate ranges with the results of property searches.
All hotels participating in Inside Shopper will be indicated onscreen to travel agents using the Galileo GDS. Additionally, Inside Shopper enables rates from Utell hotels to be displayed more effectively on the Galileo GDS, showing accurate availability and rate ranges. With this display of rate ranges, agents will be able to choose among the returned results without having to enter inquiries for availability at each property.
