Sabre Airline Solutions Converts 4 Carriers to Its Reservations

Sabre Airline Solutions announced today a record-breaking month for completion of successful cutovers of global air carriers to the company’s reservations and departure control solution. During the month of June, Sabre Airline Solutions’ conversion team completed systems implementations at Bangkok Airways and Siem Reap Airways International, Transportes Aeromar, and Aero Continente. More than 70 global carriers currently embrace the company’s technology to manage vital reservations and departure control functions.

All four cutovers were accomplished in less than one hour with under 1% error conversion rate and without disruption to the carrier’s operations. By adopting Sabre Airline Solutions’ expertise and technology, Bangkok Airways realized immediate access to a number of new capabilities, including the adoption of electronic ticketing services for the convenience of its traveling customers.

“After an exhaustive evaluation of more than 10 reservations system providers, Bangkok Airways selected Sabre Airline Solutions because their solution offered instant access to market leading reservations and departure control capability/functionality that would enhance our yield and optimize costs,” said Ping na Thalang, Bangkok Airways

vice president of Information Systems. “Furthermore, we believe that Sabre Airline Solutions offers an excellent product and overall value, and a range of technology interfaces which enables Bangkok Airways to continue building its own applications around the host system.”

The conversion to Sabre Airline Solutions’ systems equips Transportes Aeromar with a comprehensive solution to customer processing and service from initial contact to post-travel support. It also upgrades visibility for the carrier’s offerings among the more than 64 percent of local and regional travel agents served by Sabre Travel Network systems, enhancing the carrier’s revenues and engendering customer loyalty.

“Our migration to Sabre Airline Solutions, together with our state of the art fleet and systems, will enhance our position as a leader in Mexican regional aviation by delivering a consistent executive world-class product,” said Ami Lindenberg, executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Transportes Aeromar. “Transportes Aeromar’s reputation for a safe and efficient performance, together with our dedicated and professional personnel all over the country, will also be improved by the use of Sabre Airline Solutions systems.”

At Aero Continente, the June 6 cutover converted 15 airline locations from the carrier’s in-house system to Sabre Airline Solutions’ reservations and departure control solution. Aero Continente now offers its customers a more efficient and convenient travel experience and access to worldwide travel planning and reservations information and capabilities. For the airline, the conversion offers more comprehensive functionality, lower cost of ownership of its technology systems, access to new sources of revenue, and better management of its sales channels and partnerships.

“The agreement with Sabre Airline Solutions satisfies a demand among regional operators which wanted a more efficient connection with the airline systems of Aero Continente,” said Milagros Zevallos, commercial director for the airline. “Sabre Airline Solutions is increasing our technology level in the region and in the world, which will definitely benefit the productivity of our travel agents, employees and will make a better experience for our customers.”

According to Gianni Marostica, Sabre Airline Solutions president of Reservations and Departure Control, “After more than 15 years of successfully migrating reservations and departure control systems for carriers both large and small, we are well equipped to tackle any conceivable conversion program. Accomplishing four successful migrations in one month may seem like a daunting task, but our more than 75 dedicated cutover professionals have many years of airline knowledge along with our tried and true processes and technology to rely upon to assure airlines of a smooth, seamless cutover experience. We welcome the carriers to our Sabre Airline Solutions reservations and departure control community, and look forward to serving them for many years to come.”
