Macdonald Hotels has launched its new Golfing Breaks brochure, offering the local and international consumer and corporate market a range of flexible, tailor-made golf packages and sample breaks.

This planned promotion looks set to work well with the spa break business as many of the participating hotels feature Vital leisure clubs and outdoor pursuits, so packages can be tailored to appeal to the non-golfer, as well as companies organising corporate hospitality or conference bookings.Although health, fitness and beauty services vary from location to location, Macdonald Hotels spa and leisure facilities generally include indoor pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, spa, solarium and gymnasium. Some hotels also provide extensive health and beauty treatments.

The new glossy brochure features over 30 of their finest hotels UK-wide, and golfing breaks can be booked through the group’s dedicated Golf Specialist who will arrange everything from tee times to tuition. Some hotels have their own golf course; such as the newly opened Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Country Club near Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, which also boasts a superb spa.

Others are near to and have close links with some of the country’s best courses, such as Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, overlooking the 18th green of The Old Course and ideally situated for a round on any of the renowned links courses; The Marine Hotel in North Berwick, overlooking the Open qualifying West Links Course, and The White Hart in Lincoln, close to the famous Woodhall Spa.

Spanish golfing breaks are also featured, with all-inclusive packages available at four Macdonald Resorts - Dona Lola, Leila Playa, Villicana and La Ermita - with the chance to play a superb range of courses on the Costa del Sol, such as Almenara, Estepona, La Quinta and Los Naranjos.
