Ayoma LifeSpa has made its debut at Hotel Valencia Santana Row. The 1,700 sq-ft spa is exclusively designed to provide clients with Ayurvedic therapy - a Science of Life in India, dating back 5,000 years, announced Reenita Malhotra, internationally acclaimed Ayurvedic Clinician and CEO and founder of Ayoma, Inc.

Opening the Ayoma LifeSpa at this time is a major milestone, said Malhotra, “Living a healthy life has taken on new meaning. In more recent months, the concern about the rising cost of health care and the decline of medical services has become the catalyst for individuals to take charge of their health. People are being forced to put more emphasis on preventative health care and less on routine visits to the doctor`s office.”

Ayurveda`s philosophy is to empower the individual with a better understanding of their body. The process maximises health through herbal personal care, diet, massage and other natural treatments, exercise, art, and environment. Other philosophies and alternative medicines, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Martial Arts, Yoga and Thai Massage, have all descended from Ayurveda.

Reenita Malhotra, who was born and raised in Bombay, India, inherited the knowledge and practice of Ayurveda as a child. After completing her education in the United States and spending time in the Orient, the opportunity to package the traditional herbs used in the Ayurvedic treatment presented itself, in 1999, the exclusive line of Ayoma`s Ayurvedic products and services were introduced, and today they are offered at prestigious hotels and spas throughout the world.

Malhotra is an international Ayurvedic Clinician and spokesperson, having trained and lectured in Japan, China, Europe, and the United Kingdom, as well as throughout the United States. She is an educator and lecturer at California Pacific Medical Centre’s Institute of Health Healing and at Osher Centre of Integrative Medicine in San Francisco, and created the Ayurvedic certificate course for the American Spa Therapy Certification Council (ASTECC).
Malhotra also provides Ayurvedic consultations at the California Pacific Medical Centre’s Institute of Health & Healing and is currently writing a book to be released in January 2005.
