England’s Calcot Manor Looks Set to Open Early

The å£2.5 million spa at Calcot Manor in the Cotswolds is now due to open this month following a massive project to create one of the UKå‘s most exclusive hotel spas.Calcot Manor is a privately-owned, 28-bedroomed hotel and its Cotswold stone spa will include an indoor pool, fully-equipped gym, Hamman, plus treatment rooms and a cosmetics area.

The exclusive spa and gym designed by leading industry architects, Corporate Edge, will incorporate seven treatment rooms, presenting beauty treatments by Aromatherapy Associates, and Guinot, plus a Hamman and dry flotation tank, with sauna, steam room, relaxation space and sunbed area. The development will also include a 16m swimming pool and children’s pool, together with a fitness suite equipped by Technogym.

The purpose-built spa is being created around an enclosed courtyard garden leading to tennis courts, which will boast an eight-seater hot tub set within a decked area facing an external log fire. Calcot is currently working to develop a range of holistic and anti-ageing treatments. Among the 50 specialist treatments to be offered, more contemporary approaches and salon services will feature alongside spa therapies and traditional philosophies to bring balance and wellbeing experiences to the spa.

This is a major development in the hotel’s history. The 14th century courtyard, flagstones and English oak remain, but the original cottages and outbuildings have been converted into bedrooms. Each has its own en-suite bathroom, some with whirlpool baths. All rooms are beautifully furnished and many are located in the main house. A number of cottage suites have also been created for the families. Calcot also offers two restaurants, a croquet lawn, and attractions in the surrounding area ranging from historic sites to golf courses and wildlife parks.
