Evason Hua Hin Resort & Spa Opening

The Evason Hua Hin Resort & Spa - the new resort from Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas, the operator of unique luxury hotels and resorts in Asia - celebrated its Grand Opening recently. The event was marked with a lavish opening ceremony complete with fireworks and Thai traditional dance, which was attended by dignitaries and VIPs from Thailand and overseas, and presided over by Princess Ubolratana of Thailand.
The resort, which was completed in November last year, takes its place as one of the finest resorts in the Hua Hin area, and includes among its features 40 private pool villas - the only pool villas of any resort in the area.

The opening ceremony included the spectacle of a traditional Thai fon tien candle dance in which 10 dancers dressed in white and light brown sarongs dance while carrying candles. This performance is used to mark special occasions at night. This was accompanied by the sa bud chai or drum dance, originally a war ritual to encourage victory but now applied to joyous occasions such as celebrating a new building and other kinds of major success.

At the opening ceremony of the resort, which was purchased and completely transformed by Six Senses last year, Sonu Shivdasani, Chairman of Six Senses paid tribute to staff, local authorities and investment partner Deutsche Bank, as well as the Government of Thailand “for their foresight and courage back in 1997 when they established the property fund law.”
The fund, he said “offered incentives to and attracted important investors to invest in distressed real estate” and he explained “the investment by Six Senses and Deutsche Bank into the Evason Hua Hin has resulted in socio-economic benefits for the area.”
The hotel has been fully operational since November last year and is positioned as one of the very top resorts in Asia. The resort is located at Pranburi, approximately 30 kilometres south of Hua Hin town and 230 kilometres from Bangkok amongst 20 acres of beautifully landscaped tropical gardens filled with lotus ponds and waterways, facing the Gulf of Siam. Travelling time by car from Hua Hin town or airport is 30 minutes, and from Bangkok approximately three hours.

The 185 luxurious guestrooms are distributed within eight separate low-rise buildings in a tropical garden setting, including 40 oversized stand-alone private pool villas. The resort is located right next to the seashore and so white sand beaches and the sound of the sea add to the relaxing tropical ambience.

All rooms have either over-sized King or Twin beds with light comfortable duvets, most with an open-style bathroom and all with private balconies. All rooms have a large day bed designed as a sitting area that can be easily made up as a third bed at night. Other facilities include three excellent restaurants, a professionally managed Kids Club and of course the signature Six Senses Spa, offering a wide range of holistic treatments by experienced international and Thai therapists.
