ebookers.com Signs Pan-European Agreement With Amadeus

ebookers.com, Europe`s No.1 online travel company, announced today that it has signed a pan-European agreement with Amadeus, a leading travel industry technology provider and global
distribution system (GDS).
Amadeus will support ebookers.com with its
technology expertise and will provide reservation technology for scheduled
flights, hotels and other travel related products.
Amadeus`s comprehensive data network and database is among the largest of its kind in Europe, enabling bookings with some 500 airlines, representing more than 95 per cent of the world`s scheduled airline seats. The system also
provides access to some 54,000 hotels, 48 car rental companies serving some
24,000 locations, as well as serving newer provider groups, including ferry,
rail, cruise, insurance and tour operators.
The new pan-European agreement with Amadeus substitutes the individual
contracts initially signed by some of ebookers.com`s national operations and
expands the Amadeus partnership throughout the whole group. This agreement is
in-line with ebookers.com`s policy of consolidating product and supplier
relationships, including with GDSs, on a pan-European basis, in order to increase efficiencies, save costs and maximise revenue. The company believes that by doing these it can leverage added value from its unique pan-European
scope and size.
Dinesh Dhamija, CEO ebookers.com, comments:
“This new pan-European agreement with Amadeus has the potential to give
ebookers.com a much more attractive revenue stream than our previous relationship, which consisted of individual national agreements in some markets. We believe that this new agreement, across all of ebookers.com`s operating countries, illustrates the added value that company can leverage in comparison to smaller competitors.  Amadeus`s comprehensive online solutions and strong presence in Europe fit perfectly ebookers.com`s requirements. We are confident that the benefits and synergies resulting from agreement will translate into improved service offering to our customers.”
Philippe Chereque, Vice-President Corporate Strategy for Amadeus, added:
“Through this pan-European agreement, Amadeus is partnering with a leading
brand choice for Europe`s online travellers and thereby further establishing Amadeus as a leading provider of online technology solutions to the travel industry.”
