Travelzoo, an Internet portal site that guides people to travel specials and promotions in the offline and online worlds, has announced the most popular Internet travel deals featured in its weekly Top 20 newsletter in the year 2000.
According to Travelzoo`s list, the most popular deal was Southwest Airlines` “$99 or Less - Systemwide Fare Sale” which was released in September 2000 and received 70,208 clickthroughs from travel shoppers.
In the vacation packages category, America West Vacations` “Las Vegas Air & Hotel from $48! December Special” package was the winner, receiving 67,718 clickthroughs.
The most popular deal in the cruise category was Bid4Vacations.com`s “$299 -Caribbean Cruise for 2(!), 4 Nights” with 22,219 clickthroughs. Travelscape.com`s “Las Vegas for $15 - Even Weekends” was the winner in the lodging category with 25,922 clickthroughs. The most popular deal in the car rental category came from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, with 21,166 clickthroughs to its “Weekend Car Rental: $9.99/Day” offer.
The list is a ranking of deals that received the highest number of clickthroughs from Travelzoo`s Top 20 newsletter during the year 2000. The Top 20 is a weekly compilation of the best travel deals available on the Internet.
