British Airways plane makes emergency landing in Siberia

A Boeing 747 operated by British Airways has made an emergency landing in Irkutsk, Russia.

Flight BAW-39 was en route from London to Beijing when its captain reported an avionics malfunction and decided to land in the city of Irkutsk.

The plane landed at Irkutsk airport at 10:01 local time.

Some 289 people are believed to have been on board of the aircraft, with no reports of injuries.
