Air Canada involved in new airline food needle case

Air Canada has launched an investigation after a passenger on a domestic flight found a needle in an onboard sandwich.

Police in Canada are also involved in the incident, which occurred on a July 30th flight from Victoria, British Columbia to Toronto.

“A passenger indicated he found what appeared to be a sewing needle in a sandwich prepared in advance for the flight,” airline spokesman John Reber told AFP.

The discovery follows a similar incident onboard Delta Air Lines last month.

In that incident as many as six needles ended up in turkey sandwiches on four Delta Air Lines flights from Amsterdam to the United States.
