Grandhotel Lienz to offer new medical tourism facilities

The stunning Grandhotel Lienz, located in the heart of the Austrian Alps, is offering a new treatment for guests who are experiencing back problems at its dedicated medical centre, SymbioMed.

SymbioMed, which combines conventional medicine with the latest medical advances, has been gaining recognition around the world as travellers visit for both basic and extended physical checkups at affordable rates.

Prof. Dr. Lechleitner’s 250 m² practice in Grandhotel Lienz, which has been nominated for Europe’s Leading Wellness Hotel and Austria’s Leading Spa by the World Travel Awards this year, offers two medical consultation rooms, four treatment and therapy rooms, ultrasound and ergometer rooms, as well as a special spine and movement coordination area.

In recent weeks, the Grandhotel Lienz has complemented its therapy programme with a new treatment that is carried out on a special device called GammaSwing.

The treatment works by relieving the damaged intervertebral discs and positive effects from this type of treatment range from pain relief, muscle relaxation, improvement of mobility and it is low risk.

Travellers may also seek diagnosis, recuperation, sports examinations, weight loss programmes, heart checkups, nutrition programs, homeopathy and traditional Chinese medicine. 

Further programmes to help with giving up smoking, skin care, and anti-aging are available.  In addition to services at the medical centre, guests at the
Grandhotel Lienz enjoy a luxury suite overlooking the River Isel and the mountains, extraordinary facilities, including a spa where natural treatments are highlighted, and the many nearby activities.

The “Manager Package” provides a very special experience with an intensive health check, hiking up the spiritual mountain Großglockner (Austria’s tallest mountain at 3798 m) plus green fees at the nearby golf course and a wine seminar.

As well as the check-ups and therapies offered at Grand Hotel Lienz, the close cooperation with Lienz hospital (5 minutes away) enables additional examinations (e.g. endoscopies and computer and magnetic resonance imaging with modern equipment) without long waiting times and without having to stay in hospital.

Each guest will receive a physician’s letter with all results and recommendations, to ensure a smooth transition with their own GP.

Prof. Dr. Lechleitner is an internationally renowned consultant for internal medicine and cardiology. He leads the department of internal medicine at the Lienz hospital and was part of the team carrying out the world’s largest studies in heart attacks.

He is also a qualified sports medicine and acupuncture specialist. For over 15 years he has concentrated intensively on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which he has also established at the Lienz hospital.
