The offering of long-haul flights in Vienna continues to increase. Since Saturday evening, 18 February 2023, Air India is back at Vienna Airport once again, offering direct flights linking Delhi and Vienna.

Emirates operated a one-off A380 service last night to mark its ten-year anniversary and continued commitment to Austria. This important milestone signals the first ever commercially scheduled A380 service to Vienna International Airport. Emirates has been flying to Austria since May 2004.

The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport fell by 1.7% year-on-year to 1,374,156 in January 2013. This decline resulted, above all, from unusually heavy snowstorms in eastern Austria on 17 January 2013 and the resulting massive impact on the entire area as well as the related limitations on air travel throughout Europe because of the severe winter weather at airports throughout the region.
