TUI Group has appointed Andrew Flintham to the tole of managing director of TUI UK & Ireland. Flintham has been part of the leadership team of TUI UK & Ireland for over 13 years, most recently as commercial director, bringing an extensive knowledge of tour operating and understanding of the ambitious growth plans.
TUI Group has opened its first TUI Blue hotel in Portugal. The opening of TUI Blue Falesia marks the launch of this year’s growth phase for TUI Group’s new lifestyle hotel brand.
Tui Group saw turnover climb by 9.1 per cent in the three months to December when compared to the previous year. At the same time, customer numbers at the tour operator grew by 4.4 per cent year-on-year.

This year was another “very good” period for TUI Group, the travel group said in a release detailing financial results for 2017. In the year to September, TUI increased its underlying EBITA by 12 per cent, with turnover up 11.7 per cent.
Dieter Zetsche, currently chairman of the executive board of Daimler, is to become the new chairman of the supervisory board of tourism group TUI as of October 1st, 2018.
TUI UK & I has confirmed Christopher Hackney has been appointed as the new managing director of Marella Cruises and will take up his position from December 1st.
