Travelport has grown its investment to 55 per cent in fast-growing Australian corporate travel technology company, Locomote, becoming its majority shareholder. Travelport has today announced the launch of a new enhanced app for booking Eurostar seats, called Travelport Seat Map App for 9F. As Eurostar prepares to launch a new fleet of state-of-the-art trains between London, Paris and Brussels, Travelport has enhanced its app ready to make seat bookings even quicker and easier for UK travel agents.
Travelport welcomes Heathrow Express to Smartpoint
Travelport has announced travel agencies in the UK, Ireland and the Nordics can now earn commission on Heathrow Express tickets booked through Travelport Smartpoint. The announcement follows the launch earlier this year of Travelport’s industry-first solution, offering airport express services to travel agencies through a plugin on its Travel Commerce Platform.
Alfy assumes leadership of Travelport operations in Egypt
Travelport has appointed Mervat Alfy as its new country manager for Egypt. Alfy comes to Travelport with a wealth of regional experience having held the position of Egypt country manager for British Airways for the past seven years.
New senior leadership for Travelport
Travelport has announced the appointment of Stephen Shurrock as executive vice president and chief commercial officer, replacing Kurt Ekert who leaves the company at the end of the year, as the position relocates to the UK. Shurrock joins Travelport from Telefonica, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, where he is currently chief executive of its consumer division, responsible for both the consumer business and digital divisions globally.
Travelport signs partnership with Greek Tripsta
Travelport has signed a new long term agreement with Tripsta, one of the biggest online travel agencies in Europe. Tripsta, based in Greece, operates the travelplanet24 brand and recently merged with airtickets.com to create the largest online travel agencies in south-east Europe and Greece’s largest e-commerce company.
Travelport acquires Austrian distributor TraviAustria
Travelport has announced the acquisition and vertical integration of its distributor in Austria, TraviAustria. TraviAustria was founded in 1987 by Austrian Airlines, an original shareholder in the predecessor company of Travelport.
Travelport signs latest distribution deal with rail operator SNCF
Travelport and SNCF, one of the largest rail operators worldwide, have today announced a new multi-year distribution agreement. This deal is a continuation of the existing relationship between Travelport and SNCF which dates back to 1999.
Travelport, AXESS roll out agency desktop
Japanese distribution system AXESS International Network and Travelport are on schedule to roll out a new, superior agency desktop in Japan. The upgraded agency desktop, which will be powered by Travelport, will be made available exclusively to AXESS-connected travel agents and will be known as AXESS CREA Advance. It will replace AXESS’ current CREA desktop.

Travelport has signed a new multi-year and multi-national agreement with OneTwoTrip, the largest online travel agency in Russia and one of the largest industry players in Europe.
Air Iceland signs up to Travelport Rich Content solution
Travelport has confirmed Air Iceland, an Icelandair Group company, has become a customer for the first time and signed up to Travelport Rich Content and Branding. The airline’s content is now available from Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform.

Travelport has signed a multi-year agreement with Nakhal Travel, one of Lebanon’s longest standing and pioneering travel agencies. Through this long term agreement Nakhal Travel will have access to Travelport’s unmatched travel content inventory including air, hotel, rail and car.
