Travelport acquires Mobile Travel Technologies

Travelport Worldwide has acquired Mobile Travel Technologies, a private company based in Dublin, Ireland. MTT provides an industry-leading mobile travel platform and product set that allows airlines, hotels, corporate travel management companies and travel agencies to engage with their customers through sophisticated, tailored mobile services including apps, mobile web and intelligent mobile messaging.

Travelport has signed a new agreement signed with AirAsia, Asia’s largest low cost carrier, for its Rich Content and Branding solution. This supplements the distribution agreements that Travelport already has with seven carriers within the AirAsia group.

Travelport has announced renewed agreements in the UK with Clarity Travel Management and Elegant Resorts, which are both part of the Al Tayyar Travel Group. Travelport UK has worked with Elegant Resorts since July 2010 and Clarity Travel Management since before 2006. Following the renewed agreements, Clarity Travel Management and Elegant Resorts will continue to have access to Travelport’s unrivalled travel content inventory, which includes fares and now ancillaries from the world’s leading airlines including low cost carriers and over 650,000 hotel properties.

Travelport and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, have today jointly announced the extension of their multi-year, full content agreement. The agreement means that Travelport-connected agents worldwide will have continued access to effectively search, compare and book Etihad Airways fares and offering via Travelport’s industry-leading Travel Commerce Platform.

Travelport signs content partnership with Nile Air of Egypt

Travelport and Nile Air announce the signing of a multi-year, global full content agreement. Nile Air, one of Egypt’s leading private airlines, launched operations in 2010 and provides services from across Egypt to the Middle East, Gulf and Africa with a fleet of modern Airbus A320 aircraft configured with eight business class seats and 156 in economy. This new agreement will enable the 67,000 Travelport-connected agencies worldwide to access fares and inventory, including web fares, and ancillaries for Nile Air.
