New appointment for Travelport
Travelport has confirmed that Gavin Teale has become the Managing Director of its business in Eastern Europe. Gavin is an experienced member of the Travelport management team and has already been leading the region on an interim basis.
Travelport signs global distribution deal with Marriott
Travelport has signed a new multi-year strategic distribution agreement with Marriott International, a global leading lodging company. The agreement continues access for travel agents globally to Marriott International’s 4,500 hotels in nearly 90 countries. As part of the agreement, the companies will enhance the way Marriott International’s hotels are merchandised to travel agencies through Travelport’s travel commerce platform.
New appointment for Travelport
Travelport is appointing Peggy Bianco as Vice President, Head of Hotel Sourcing, globally. Bianco joins Travelport in mid-May and will report directly into Niklas Andreen who heads up Travelport’s hospitality division.
South African carrier signs on Travelport
Travelport has signed an agreement with Fly Blue Crane, South Africa’s newest regional carrier. The airline has also signed up for Travelport’s merchandising solution, Travelport Rich Content and Branding.
China Southern Airlines signs Travelport distribution deal
Travelport and China Southern Airlines, China’s largest airline, have jointly announced the extension of their multi-year content agreement. The agreement ensures Travelport customers worldwide will continue to have full access to the airline’s fares and inventories via the Travelport Travel Commerce Platform.

Travelport has signed new collaborations with four innovative travel companies, which are utilising Travelport’s Universal Application Programming Interface to power new services that give their customers a greater level of information, choice and flexibility.
Travelport expands Asia operations with Galileo Japan acquisition
Travelport has announced further expansion of its interests in Japan with the purchase of its distribution business - Galileo Japan. Galileo Japan was previously owned by a consortium of airline owners. Japan is one of the world’s largest travel markets, and, in terms of flight seats offered for sale, is only smaller than the USA and China due to its large volume of domestic air travel bookings, as well as the international connectivity provided to Japanese businesses and tourists.
easyJet and Travelport renew long-term content deal
easyJet and Travelport have announced a new long-term agreement. This new agreement means that Travelport-connected travel agencies will continue to have access to easyJet’s content through the Travel Commerce Platform. In addition, easyJet will continue to use Travelport’s Rich Content and Branding solution which enables easyJet to more effectively display and merchandise its full range of fares, including business traveller friendly products such as Inclusive and Flexi Fares.
Travelport inks deal with Bangkok Airways
Travelport and Bangkok Airways have extended their multi-year content agreement. Under this agreement, Bangkok Airways has also chosen to leverage Travelport’s industry-leading merchandising solution – Rich Content and Branding – to effectively communicate its brand and offerings to travel agents.
Travelport inks deal with Marine Tours
Travelport has signed a new multi-year renewal agreement with Greek travel management company Marine Tours. The company will utilise Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform to process its travel bookings, providing them with access to Travelport’s unrivalled travel content inventory.
Travelport inks deal with SAS
SAS has signed up for Travelport’s merchandising functionality, Rich Content and Branding. SAS is the flag carrier of Sweden, Norway and Denmark focusing on the frequent traveller to and from Scandinavia.
MTT appoints new chief executive
David Moran has today been named as Chief Executive Officer of MTT, the specialist in mobile travel commerce and digital travel services. Acquired by Travelport in July last year, MTT provides sophisticated mobile applications and digital services to some of the best known brands in the global travel industry. Based in MTT’s Dublin headquarters, David will join the company on March 1, 2016.
