Travelport expands Asia operations with Galileo Japan acquisition

Travelport has announced further expansion of its interests in Japan with the purchase of its distribution business - Galileo Japan. Galileo Japan was previously owned by a consortium of airline owners. Japan is one of the world’s largest travel markets, and, in terms of flight seats offered for sale, is only smaller than the USA and China due to its large volume of domestic air travel bookings, as well as the international connectivity provided to Japanese businesses and tourists.

easyJet and Travelport renew long-term content deal

easyJet and Travelport have announced a new long-term agreement. This new agreement means that Travelport-connected travel agencies will continue to have access to easyJet’s content through the Travel Commerce Platform. In addition, easyJet will continue to use Travelport’s Rich Content and Branding solution which enables easyJet to more effectively display and merchandise its full range of fares, including business traveller friendly products such as Inclusive and Flexi Fares.

David Moran has today been named as Chief Executive Officer of MTT, the specialist in mobile travel commerce and digital travel services. Acquired by Travelport in July last year, MTT provides sophisticated mobile applications and digital services to some of the best known brands in the global travel industry.  Based in MTT’s Dublin headquarters, David will join the company on March 1, 2016.
