From operating the fastest ferries in the world to doubling passenger numbers, there is a real sense of momentum at Oman National Ferries. Owned by the Sultanate of Oman’s government, NFC routes connect Khasab to Lima in the northern Musandam peninsula exclave, and Khasab to Muscat and Shinas, as well as a southern route between the Halaniyat islands and Salalah.

Her Excellency Maitha Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Tourism for Oman revealed that the room inventory in the Sultanate will rise from 12,000 currently to 20,000 by 2015, while airport capacity will treble both in Muscat and Salalah, reaching 12 million in the capital and three million in the southern city.

The deliberations of the 3rd International Geological Tourism Conference “Seeing the Tourism Destinations Differently” were concluded today under the auspices of Maitha bint Saif al-Mahrouqiyah, Undersecretary of the Tourism Ministry.

Oman Air has announced a new joint venture with Bahwan Travel Agencies, which will promote inbound tourism to Oman and outbound holidays to destinations served by the national carrier’s network. To be known as Oman Air Holidays, the Sultanate of Oman’s first ever Public/Private Partnership will result in the country’s largest travel and tourism business.
