Al Nahda Resort & Spa in Muscat is set to expand its offering with the opening of a boutique 30-room desert resort, Dunes by Al Nahda, in quarter four of 2014. Located a 45-minute drive from Al Nahda Resort & Spa itself in Wadi Al Abiyad, Dunes by Al Nahda will be the closest desert resort to downtown Muscat.

WTTC 2014: Sultanate of Oman set to lead Middle Eastern tourism

The Sultanate of Oman is expected to lead the Middle East in terms of growth in the travel and tourism industry and to post one of the strongest growth rates worldwide in the sector in 2014, according to a report released by the World Travel & Tourism Council. In its annual Travel & Tourism Economic Impact 2014 report, WTTC said that the direct contribution of the travel and tourism industry to Oman’s GDP in 2013 was RO982.8mn (three per cent of GDP) and this is forecast to rise by 10.2 per cent to RO1.08bn in 2014.
