Accor boosts London presence with new properties
Accor is set to open four new hotels in London in October; a Novotel and ibis hotel in Blackfriars, a second ibis hotel in Shepherd’s Bush and a new addition to the growing Mercure hotel portfolio, opening in Greenwich. InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the Holiday Inn Express Rio Branco in Brazil has broken ground. The new-build hotel is scheduled to open in late 2013, just in time for the forthcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

InterContinental prepares third Hotel Indigo in China
Occupying an entire triangular block once home to the German Consulate in the Former German Concession neighbourhood, the hotel’s 11 individual villas pay homage to traditional Germanic architecture with red-brick facades and ornate cupolas. The newly-built villa-style buildings take inspiration from the old German Consulate, the former residence of a Russian businessman and a local church.
Park Hotel Group secures first hotel management deal
Park Hotel Group has secured its first hotel management deal. The agreement was inked with CEL-Alexandra, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CEL Development, the property investment and development arm of Singapore-listed construction and property group Chip Eng Seng Corporation.
Renaissance Kiev Hotel sees Marriott move into Ukraine
Marriott International has announced today it will open its first hotel in Ukraine, the 173-room Renaissance Kiev Hotel, under a management agreement with Subsidiary Enterprise Grand Plaza. The hotel is expected to open in mid-2013 following an extension and renovation of the existing historic building formerly known as the Leipzig Hotel.
Best Western Premier continues expansion
Best Western Premier has made its debut in Australia and Russia, adding two key markets to the brand’s global portfolio. ME London set for September opening

Ascott acquires London’s Cavendish Hotel
Ascott has signed an agreement to acquire The Cavendish Hotel in London for £158.8 million. The company will manage the 230-room hotel from the fourth quarter of 2012 and will subsequently transform the property into a luxurious serviced residence under the premier Ascott The Residence brand, renaming it Ascott St James London.
